On the reverse transaction, we represent record companies and independent artists in licensing their content to iTunes, Real, MusicNet and other online sources.

Not only have we represented content owners in agreements with digital aggregators, we have represented artsits who have moved from independent , to indie labels, to major labels, helping them avoid legal pitfalls along the way.

International Licensing:

Chris Castle has substantial expertise in obtaining music publishing licenses for retailers seeking to operate in jurisdictions outside of the United States.  We also maintain an international network of counsel and consultants with whom we are allied in Canada, the United Kingdom and the European Union to facilitate corporate, international tax and related transactions, as well as marketing companies, royalty accounting and royalty compliance firms, technology search firms and related specialties.  We can be a one-stop shop for online retailers seeking to do business in these jurisdictions.

Webcasting and Satellite Broadcasting Licensing in the United States:

Chris Castle has deep expertise in the statutory license under Section 114(g) and in dealing with SoundExchange, including negotiating with SoundExchanage the first letter of direction for record producers through his alliance with the Producers & Engineers Wing of the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences.
